Beginner
Dog Training Tips for Basic Commands
When trying to teach your dog basic
commands, you need to speak them as sharply and distinctly
as possible during training. Make sure your voice has a
positive tone. This will make the basics of dog training
more easily understood. Your doggie will recognize the
tone in your voice and try to associate it
behaviour.
The very first word that a puppy or new dog should learn is his
or her name. They
really learn the sound of their name and understand it to be
something that requires their attention. Your dog will come to
you naturally over time just as long as you call him by his
name every day.
Before you start
training verbal commands, you need to understand your dog’s
personality.
Ask yourself if he’s timid, quiet, sensitive, playful, or
aggressive.
These traits will affect the type of training that you try
with your dog. As soon as you’re able to touch and feel him,
call him by his name. Constantly give your pet
affection and praise with a positive tone in your
voice.
Remember, the tone of your voice plays a role in
beginners dog training .
Whenever you prepare meals for your pup, call his or her name,
followed by a distinct “come”. This is probably the easiest
command to teach, because it’s associated with food and doggie
treats! This
theory and type of training is used in pretty much all the
basic commands.
Remember to always praise your pet every time he obeys a
command and make sure he feels
rewarded.
House breaking a pup
can be rather stressful for a new trainer. However, most dogs are
generally clean in nature, which is good news in regards
to
basic puppy training. Canines instinctively
realize that the house is not the most appropriate place to
relive themselves.
They will try not to potty near to where they eat or sleep, so
keep that in mind when training them.
What you need to do if you ever catch your dog
relieving himself in the house is to usher him outside as
fast as you can. Praise him after he
finishes outside. Never, ever yell or scold
at your puppy, or you’ll only confuse him. You’ll make him feel
ashamed and he’ll never learn from
that.
If your pup doesn’t seem to comprehend the command
“come” when trying to teach him dog training basics, don’t
give chase.
This will only cause him to run farther away. Instead, when he looks at
you, call his name and immediately run away from him
yourself. Soon,
they’ll become curious and will get the idea. Your dog will then try to
chase you!
Always remember this: never yell at a puppy.
Whenever you catch your little pooch doing something he
shouldn’t be doing, use the command “shame!” when looking at
the evidence. *DO NOT* look at the dog when saying this, but
at the evidence itself. It’s best to do this when catching
him in the act, so that he can associate the negative,
disapproving command with something that he did.
No other type of scolding or yelling will
work when it comes to
the basics of dog training. If nothing else, it’ll make the
puppy lose trust in you. Yelling or scolding will not correct
your dog’s error because he/she will become
confused.
